Childlike Faith

What are we to do with our secret longings and desires? Offer them to God. He knows about them already but He relishes a relationship where we come to Him about everything: career, kids, cares.

I developed this habit as a child. My mother had told me I could talk to God about anything and I believed her. I would soon enroll in kindergarten, but I had a dilemma. I had a growth next to my left ear (keloid like) that appeared after my bout with chicken pox. It was removed surgically, but returned noticeable larger.

I can’t start kindergarten with this growth on my face, I said to myself. So I began to pray and pray and pray asking God to remove it. Every minister I heard on the radio who prayed, I put my hand there as a sign of contact and belief that God was hearing my prayer. I had faith that God would heal me before I started school. He did. The round growth flattened out smoothly into my skin, barely noticeable.

I can never forget this first experience of God answering my prayer as a 4 or 5 year old. He has not stopped, neither has my habit of going to Him about everything.

What concerns you, concerns your Heavenly Father. You matter to Him. Pour your heart out. Take every complaint and care to Him. He can handle it and do the Miraculous.
