Top Notch Adviser

Welcome to the new Excellent Living Blog and website. We’d love to get your feedback on both.

I initially resisted the idea of  blogging. But then one morning it occurred to me that it’s a wonderful tool to share (in an immediate way) a word of encouragement or some reflections. I’ve discovered that everyone can use a dose of encouragement. I’ve never heard anyone say: “Stop encouraging me! I’ve had enough for one day!”

Proverbs 12:25 (NLT) says: “Worry weighs a person down, but an encouraging word cheers a person up.”

I found a wonderful encouraging word this morning when I read Psalm 32:8. It reads: “The Lord says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you…”

I got so excited thinking about the fact that the God of the Universe, the One who spoke this world into existence promised to guide me along the best path for me! It doesn’t get any better than that. This promise is for you as well. Any one who is depressed right now, has reason for hope.  You are not insignificant.  The omnipotent, omniscient God says: ” I made you, you are important to me, and all you have to do is ask and I will be your adviser in every area of  life.”  I love this verse because God personalizes it. What’s best for you, may not be best for me. It’s all relative. Often I thank God for all my prayers He did not answer. Father knows Best. Him alone.

I encourage you to make it a daily habit of going to God about every concern and every decision (large or small). He never tires of us coming to Him. All we have to do is ask.

Expecting great things of God,
